Capital Boys Motivated By Last Year's Title Game Defeat

Posted: Updated:

It's safe to say the Helena Capital boys basketball team is out for revenge this season.

The Bruins will tip off the 2013-14 campaign on Friday at Great Falls High. The Bruins were the Double A state runners-up last season, losing the title game in overtime to Missoula Hellgate. Capital returns three starters from that team, including All-State center Carson Dummer. The returning Bruins say they will lose last years loss in the title game as motivation this season.

"It's really tough last year coming that close. We had a lot of really good experience going that far too so we kinda no what it takes now and we just gotta put it together," says Dummer.

"Last year definitely gave us a really good experience. And with three returning starters and six seniors coming back, five of them will be starting it's definitely good experience to have team chemistry going into this year," says Bruins Senior guard Hunter Beto.

"We got awful close to the top and our kids our driven. They're hungry and I'm excited to see them play this year," says Bruins Head Coach Guy Almquist.
