Lady Bruins Motivated to Return to State Title Game

Posted: Updated:

Last year the Capital High Lady Bruins finished with a 21-3 record which was the best in school history. But all three of those losses came to Missoula Sentinel including a 49-40 defeat in the state title game. The Bruins lost both of their all-state starters but they return a couple of all-conference players including Carroll commit Michaela Dowdy and guard Kenzie Johnston. The team says last year's run to the state title game motivates them for the upcoming season.

McKenzie Johnston, Lady Bruins junior guard said, "it'll help us out a lot....getting that far and losing in the championship game. It sparks a fire in us to get one step closer to a championship."

Lady Bruins head coach, Bill Pilgeram said, "We had a special team last year and a special group. But this year is different. I think last year's last game is going to motivate us to try and do a lot of things that last year's team did and hopefully we take it one step farther."
