Search for Missing Colorado Man Continues in Lewis and Clark County

Posted: Updated:

The search continued today in Lewis and Clark County for a missing Colorado man in the Helena National Forest who was last seen roughly two weeks ago.

Dale Brownlow, a 52-year-old Wildlife Biologist from Denver, was suspected to be hiking in the Helena National Forest where his vehicle was parked for two weeks. Sheriff officials started their search on Thursday the same day Brownlow's sister officially reported him missing. Authorities say Brownlow had been living in a Helena hotel for at least a month before traveling to the Hunters Gulch area right outside of Nelson, Montana.

A total of three helicopters, two from Flathead County and one from Lewis and Clark County, over a dozen search and rescue ground crews were with K-9's and on horseback today continuing the search. No signs of Brownlow were found, Sheriff Leo Dutton says there is a possibility he could have survived as he is an experienced hiker. From here officials in Lewis and Clark County are going to dig into Brownlow's background for information that could led them to clues of his behavioral patterns before starting another search effort.
