UGF Women Fall On Road to #8 Westmont

Posted: Updated:

Despite a valiant second half effort, the University of Great Falls Lady Argos could not upset 8th ranked Westmont on Monday night, falling 85-71.

UGF shot just 29% from the field in the first 20 minutes of the game and entered the break trailing 38-27. The Lady Argos shot the ball much better in the second stanza, but could not overcome a Warriors team that was on fire from the field, shooting 49.3% for the entire contest.

The Lady Argos (8-4) were led by guard Erin Legel's 25 points. Mary Wilmore had 24 points and 11 rebounds for UGF. Westmont (5-3) was paced by senior forward Kelsie Sampson's 33 points, 20 more than any of her other teammates scored.

UGF will be back in action in Havre on Friday, 12/20 at 8:00 p.m. against Northwest Indian College in the first game of the Duck Inn Classic.
