Helena Public School Board Listened to Bond Proposals

After voters in Helena passed a building reserve levy on school structures, the school board meeting earlier today to begin talks about passing a bond to address the needs within the district.

Superintendent Kent Kultgen opened the meeting Tuesday morning to present major issues in K-12th grade facilities in the Helena Public School District. Issues brought up several plans of improvements in regards to technology, displaced students and boundaries, and facility improvements.

"Scope of the bond, what projects are they going to recommend for you for the district to really tackle and then also a timeline of the bond, should we do it in phases, should we do it all at once, how are we going to do this in our future." said Superintendent Kent Kultgen.

The board is deciding on how much the bond will end up being and what projects it will go towards. The board is scheduled to make a decision by January 30th on this bond issue.
