WA Man Pleads Guilty to Killing 3-Year-Old Son in Anaconda

Posted: Updated:

Back in July, Jeremy Cramer originally appeared in court and pleaded not guilty as he was accused of murdering his three-year-old son, Brody Cramer. Today, in Beaverhead County Court, it was Cramer who changed his plea.

"I purposely killed my son on July 8th, 2013 of Mill Creek Road, east of Anaconda, Montana."

39-year-old Cramer says he is guilty of brutally murdering his three-year-old son in this Anaconda field on July 8th. Cramer appeared in court wearing shackles as he explained to Judge Loren Tucker his reasoning for pleading guilty.

"After a few months of thinking about it, I'm just taking accountability for it. My case is whether it's eight years or if it's 80 years, it's the same time for me. My son is not here so I'd rather just get this over with."

According to court documents, Cramer traveled from Lacey, Washington with his son Brody in July. While under the influence of prescription drugs, Cramer murdered his son and left him in the field.

The plea agreement recommends Cramer be sentenced to life in prison without parole restrictions.
He remains at the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Jail on $250,000 bond.
