Posted: Updated:

At the capitol Blue Cross Blue Shield Montana donated $3 million, yes $3 million, to the Foundation for Healthy Montanans.

The Foundation for Healthy Montanan's has played a key role in fighting childhood obesity in our state. Since 2012, they have been awarded over $1 million to support healthy initiatives for children.

"The kind of grants that we have been awarding is we have a grant to Montana FoodCorps and that is a program design to advance nutritional knowledge habits and good eating in the school setting, and that is centered out of Missoula. We also support fit kids clubs centered out of Billings that affects schools all over the state and what that is an after school fitness program for kids." said Chris Manger the Treasure of The Foundation for Healthy Montanan's.

In addition to this $3 million donation, Blue Cross Blue Shield Montana is working to continue their efforts in 2014 to improve the lives of Montana's children.
