The Steve Harvey Show Surprises Local Student

If you're a fan of the Steve Harvey Show, you know each year Mr. Harvey selects 100 students to be a part of the Disney Dreamer Academy.  One of those lucky students selected this year is a Junior at CMR High School.

Steve Harvey enlisted the help of our own Micah Rumsey to surprise Matt Henderson with the news.  This week, Micah and a camera crew showed up at Matt's door under the guise they were there for a final interview to select the finalists.

Upon arrival, they played Matt a video from Mr. Harvey announcing Matt would be attending the conference at Walt Disney World in the spring.  Matt was shocked and nearly speechless but was able to communicate his excitement.  His grandparents were also excited and were thrilled their grandson had such a unique opportunity.

The Disney Dreamer Academy is a multiple day conference for kids from all over the country.  They participate in a number of hands-on activities to inspire them for their future.  They also get talks from Steve Harvey, CEO's of major companies and TV/Movie Stars.  

Matt will be attending the conference in March and we look forward to catching up with him afterwards to find out how his experience went.
