Tinkle Says Griz Need to "Bring Hard Hats and Lunch Pales"

Posted: Updated:

It's been an unusually sluggish start for the Montana men's basketball team who made the NCAA tournament last year. But this year, the Griz are 4-4 on the year and the wins have been a bigger chore than necessary.

Last night Montana had their hands full against an NAIA squad in Montana Western, despite getting the win. The Griz struggled in the paint and has been the case all season long. Montana allowed the bulldogs to shoot over 50% from the field and after the game Griz head coach Wayne Tinkle had a long talk with his team about getting things going in the right direction.

Head Coach Wayne Tinkle, "in a nutshell we just talked about recommitting ourselves and bringing our hard hats and lunch pales and listening.  Basically, we just need our guys to come to work every day and make sure we're on the same page day in and day out on and off the court."

The Griz will look to stay in the win column in their next game which will be at Idaho on Dec. 28.

GREAT FALLS- Hunting, fishing, and of course the Cats/Griz game are the core beliefs for true Montanans but one that's not too far behind is beer. KFBB went to the MillerCoors facility in power to learn how barley plays a critical role in Montana's economy.   It's-a small little grain, and before you know it, you're sitting at the bar enjoying a beer with your friends.   "It's a source of comradery.
