Centerville's Richards Retires

Posted: Updated:

After 32 years of being the head football coach at Centerville high school, Ted Richards has retired.

While leading the Miners, Richards won 2 state championships (1999 and 2006), compiled 195 wins and won 8 district titles. The Great Falls Tribune was the first to announce news of his retirement.

However, this past season, Richards and the Miners didn't see much success. They finished with an overall record of 3-6 in the Northern Division of Class C 8-man and missed the playoffs.

Before entering the season, there was a legitimate shot at reaching the 200 win mark for Richards but the season did not go as planned.

Richards was inducted in to the Montana Coaches Association Hall of Fame a few years ago.
