Knights of Columbus Prepare Breakfast

Posted: Updated:

The local Knights of Columbus are getting ready for a special pancake breakfast. The funds from which will go to help feed over two hundred children in Haiti.

"Everyone is invited and it is freewill offering whatever you can eat," says local knight, Jim Benner.

Jim Benner and the Knights of Columbus are working hard to help raise money to feed kids in Haiti through a very special pancake breakfast coming up this Sunday.

"This is set up with once a year we try to do this sending the proceeds down to the priest in Haiti which he attempts to feed 220 children per day so this helps out a small amount to his program," explains Benner.

And now the Knights are asking the public for their support by coming in and giving what you can.

"It's by donation it's a freewill offering so we put no charge on it," says Benner.

This year the Knights will have some extra volunteer help as Central Catholic High School and other organizations have already pledged to help the Knights of Columbus.

"Well the Knights operate under the 4 rules of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. and that's is part of our program is to help out those in need, those that are hungry or whatever we can do for them. Some of the money for different breakfasts will stay local but once a year, this program here will go down to Haiti to help them out," says Benner.
