Woman Injured After Car Burns

One women greatly needing medical attention after getting into a car accident just north of Great Falls early Monday morning.

Just shortly after 7:30am, authorities and paramedics were called to the scene of an accident on North Wilson Road in which the vehicle hit a telephone pole.  The driver, a forty-five year old female, was reportedly stranded for eight hours before authorities were called upon for response due to injuries sustained.

The pole burned through the vehicle, snapped, and did fall.  The car was also engulfed in flames as well. 

The driver was taken to the emergency room and reportedly sustained third degree burns to various parts of her body including her back and legs.  She is still alive and no other indications of injuries have been reported.  The matter is being investigated by the Montana Highway Patrol, and we will have more information as soon as it develops.
