The Weather Chef: Snickerdoodles

Welcome back to The Weather Chef.  Today, we have a great cookie recipe on tap.  It's got a funny name, but don't worry, it doesn't have a funny taste.  It tastes fantastic.  We're baking Snickerdoodles.

Ingredients:

2 ¾ Cups Flour
2 t Cream of Tartar
1 t Baking Soda
1 Stick of Butter
½ Cup Shortening
1 ¾ Cups Sugar
2 T Cinnamon
2 Eggs

Preparation:

1) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2)Sift/whisk together flour, cream of tartar baking soda.  Set aside.
3) In a separate bowl, mix together butter, shortening and 1 ½ cups of sugar until fluffy.
4) Add eggs and combine.
5) Add dry ingredients and mix.
6) In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and ¼ cup sugar.
7) Make small balls out of the dough and roll them the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
8) Place the dough balls on a cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
9) Baking 10 minutes until the cookies are cracked but not brown.

    What initially reported as a rollover crash ended up being a chase for Great Falls Police Department and Montana Highway Patrol. Justin Brasda, a 22-year-old male from Great Falls was the driver of a vehicle when it rolled over near marketplace. Officers said there was also a female in the vehicle and when deputies arrived on the scene both suspects fled.

    According to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Facebook page, at least one hunter has gone missing in the Lincoln area.  The Sheriff's Office is working with the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department and Search and Rescue Crews to help locate the hunter.  We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
