KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UGF Junior forward Lindsey Abramson of Great Falls has been named the NAIA National Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday.

Abramson is the first honoree of the 2013-14 season and was selected based on her performances from Dec. 30 – Jan. 5. She was chosen out of a pool of conference and independent award winners.

Abramson, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., recorded back-to-back double-doubles for the third time this season en route to averaging 31.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for the week. The junior forward highlighted the week with a school record 51-point performance against Frontier Conference rival Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on Jan. 4. Abramson, who also grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds in the contest, finished the game shooting 67.7 percent (21-of-31) from the field and was 8-for-9 at the free throw line. Against Dickinson State (N.D.) on Jan. 2, Abramson tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Argonauts in the loss.

On the season, Abramson leads the team and ranks seventh nationally in rebounding with an 11.4 rebounds per game average, while ranking second on the squad in points per game (18.6). Her 183 total rebounds is second in the NAIA.
