Montana National Guard Military Police Say Goodbye to Families Before Deployment

Posted: Updated:
BELGRADE -

Today families enjoyed their last minutes with loved ones who are being deployed tomorrow with the Montana National Guard Military Police.

At a deployment ceremony this afternoon in the Belgrade armed forces reserve center, 35 members of the 143rd Military Police Company were officially taken off reserve status. The Company will first head to Fort Dix, New Jersey for six weeks of training before heading to Afghanistan. They will then spend the next year maintaining law and order within operating bases.

Spc. Brady Gray with the 143rd Military Police Company explains, "Our group of people that we are going with is just really awesome, and we are all really close nit already, so I'm not really worried about anything"

This will be their third deployment since 2002. These soldiers will leave tomorrow morning from the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport
