PRCA at Odds, Bragging Rights on the Line at Montana Circuit Finals

Posted: Updated:

The PRCA seems to be at odds, and several of it's top cowboys and cowgirls are threatening to leave to form their own organization.

The problem, according to the Facebook campaign 'Support Rodeo Contestants' is that the PRCA has denied the athletes desire to become more involved with the direction of the sport.

This, just two days away from the start of the Montana Circuit Finals Rodeo in Great Falls, which would not be affected by any stalemate certain athletes have with the PRCA, according to MPRC President Jim Croff.

Circuit titles in several of the events will be up for grabs this weekend, so a lot is on the line Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Four Seasons Arena.

After traveling around to all the different rodeos across the Treasure State to try and put themselves in position to win a title, the best part about doing so might be the bragging rights that come with finishing number one.

"A lot of guys work hard at it and trying to win this and trying to achieve this goal is a real important deal to have," Bareback leader Jessy Davis says. "And some of the guys I rodeo with, we're always giving each other a hard time, so it's good to get something like that under my belt so I have something to brag about with those guys, maybe they can step it up next year," Davis concluded with a chuckle.

The rodeo begins at 7PM on Friday and Saturday, and 2PM on Sunday.
