Great Falls Couple Allegedly Steals Thousands in Items from Walmart

Posted: Updated:

The Great Falls police department was first alerted of the alleged thefts on Wednesday by Walmart Loss Prevention, who caught Krystal Dowdy and Paul Knox stealing a 60 inch T. V. Walmart also had video of the couple stealing a $50 dollar battery charger from the automotive department.

After completing the initial theft report, Walmart had to reach out to the G.F.P.D. again when employees saw Dowdy back in the store. She was then caught and arrested.

Walmart informed police of more footage allegedly showing both Dowdy and Knox stealing full carts of groceries and merchandise.

Dowdy was confronted by police about the videos and confessed to stealing at least three full carts of merchandise with the assistance of Knox, according to court documents. She claimed they took the items because "it was easy." Dowdy also gave police permission to search her home where they were able to recover numerous stolen items.

At that time, Knox was also arrested and the couple was taken to jail. Bail for Dowdy has been set at $5,000 dollars, while Knox faces a higher bail of $10,000 dollars.
