Happy 100th Birthday to Inga Morris-Connolly

Posted: Updated:

The Grandview said happy birthday to their first 100-year-old resident.

"I never dreamed for one minute I would ever reach 100 but now that I'm there I'll accept it," says Inga Morris-Connolly.

Today the Grandview says happy birthday to their first 100 year old resident Inga Morris-Connolly, a long time Montana resident

"And I was born well close to Red Lodge," says Morris-Connolly.

Morris-Connolly fondest memories involve traveling with her family. Especially her first of many trips to Norway when she was 6 years old.

"I went to Norway and had to learn Norwegian because we all spoke English." says Morris-Connolly.

Currently Morris-Connolly lives at the Grandview here in Great Falls where she enjoys watching comedian Edger Bergen and of course music.

"Sewing and listening to music, I enjoy all music other than thump thump thump," says Morris-Connolly.

Even at her age Morris-Connolly thinks about her community and helps to sew blankets for those who need them most.

"Over at the Lutheran church I just make the tops and they do the fillings," says Morris-Connolly.

When asked if she had any advice on how to reach 100, Morris-Connolly said a firm belief in the lord and health living and avoiding alcohol is all you need.

"Really believe and that's what I hope all the rest would take a good thinking about. I never had to have any of that to be happy or jovial, you don't have to have that," says Morris-Connolly.

So Morris-Connolly will be celebrating her 100th birthday today surrounded by her family and friends and Grandview staff who have all come to wish her well on this milestone.
