Supreme Court Decision: MT Firearms Freedom Act

However, a separate petition filed by the State Attorney General over the Montana Firearms Freedom Act is still pending before the high court.  And president of the Montana Shooting Sports Association says the court's rejection of his petition Monday may not bode well for the state's request, but that quote "the fat lady hasn't sung yet."     

The 2009 law says firearms that remain in the state where they were manufactured are not subject to Congress' authority to regulate interstate commerce. Two lower courts have ruled against the state law, saying the Supreme Court has already decided the issue in favor of federal regulation.
