Hot Shooting, Team Chemistry Reasons Lady Griz are 3-1

Posted: Updated:

While the men are off to a rough start to Big Sky play, the Lady Griz look like their same old dominant self.

Robin Selvig's team is 3-1 in conference, having scored at least 80 points in all four games. The Defending Big Sky Conference champs are shooting 15 percent higher from the floor since conference play started, and credit their current record to that hot shooting, as well as strong team chemistry.

"Just because we have great chemistry and I think we all play so well together that I knew it would start to flow, and we're really happy with how it's going, and we'll continue to go out there and play hard, play together every game," Junior guard Carly Selvig says.

Adds Sophomore guard Haley Vining, "I mean if we're shooting good, we'll always get good shots, so we just have to knock them down, and if we're knocking them down I think we're pretty tough to beat."

The Lady Griz hit the road this weekend and will face first place North Dakota Thursday night at 6. UND is 5-0 in Big Sky play, allowing opponents to shoot just 33.6% from the floor.
