FOX Montana's Entertainment Update 1-16

Posted: Updated:

The nominations for the 86th Annual Academy Awards were announced early Thursday morning. "Gravity" and "American Hustle" dominated with 10 nods each, while "12 Years a Slave" followed closely with nine.   Noticeable MIA's? Emma Thompson of "Saving Mr. Banks." Robert Redford in "All is Lost," and "Lee Daniels' The Butler."

Actor Russell Johnson, best known for playing the professor on "Gilligan's Island," has died.   The 89-year-old TV star died early Thursday morning due to a kidney failure at his home in Washington. His wife says he died peacefully in his sleep.   Aside from his signature role in "Gilligan's Island" he also starred in 1950's and 60' television, including "Adventures of Superman," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "The Twilight Zone." He leaves behind his wife, Constance, and one daughter.

And some trouble for Trace Adkins.   The country crooner has checked himself into rehab for alcohol abuse following an alleged drunken brawl with an Adkins impersonator during a seven-day music cruise. Adkins had been sober for the past 12 years.

And that's your Entertainment Update!
