Rep. Daines Calls to Keep FBI Presence

Posted: Updated:
Montana -

Representative Steve Daines is asking the FBI to continue their law enforcement presence in eastern Montana. In response to concerns raised by eastern Montana law enforcement officials Representative Daines is calling for the FBI to maintain a strong presence in the treasure state. The FBI works as a drug task force in eastern Montana and currently the FBI is giving Sidney Montana some law enforcement support by helping to patrol the Bakken region. In recent reports FBI directors say they are thinking about moving the agents out of Montana. But Daines argues that crime in the Bakken region has increased by two hundred twenty eight percent between the years 2008 to 2012. He adds the support from the FBI will help to keep that number to a minimum in years to come.
