A Fungus Could Create Major Problems for Douglas Firs

Posted: Updated:
Montana -

A new study has just come out warning about a fungus could cause a lot of problems for our douglas firs.

Laminated root rot occurs from Montana to the Pacific Ocean and has already costs the timber industry millions each year. If the disease doesn't kill the tree, it will leave them weak and vulnerable to bark beetle attacks and uprooting during wind storms.

The impact this fungus has is greatly affected by our weather. So as climate change continues, this killer is said to only get worse.
