Sitting in front of a computer all day can definitely make your vision a little fuzzy, but this may be affecting more people than you think. According to one Vision Council survey, computer vision syndrome, more commonly known as digital eye strain, is appearing in close to 70% of American adults. Symptoms commonly include fatigue, eye strain, blurry vision and headaches. Our youth is no exception. Researchers say these same symptoms are also happening in children now that cell phones are used at higher rate and at a younger age.

The study also shows while some are able to go up to 6 hours before feeling any of these effects, it can hit others in as early as 10 minutes. Regardless, there is some good news. According to optometrist Sarah Hinkley, the syndrome only causes discomfort, not vision loss or permanent damage.
