Hand-Propelled Vessel Restrictions Could Get Lifted in National Parks

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK -

We have some good news for those who love water sports, because a U.S. house committee has just unanimously passed a measure that could lift a lot of restrictions. If passed, canoes, rafts, kayaks or any other hand-propelled vessel will be able to hit the waters at Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. After yesterday's vote, the Natural Resources Committee is sending the measure from Wyoming's Republican Represent, Cynthia Lummis, all the way to the House floor. If an amendment is made, the bill's effective date would be delayed by 3 years. So while that's a long wait, Lummis says that it will work in their favor by giving administrators just enough time to come up with river and stream management plans.
