Capital Girls Basketball Get Big Win Over Sentinel

After Saturday's big win over Sentinel, the Bruins, while excited, realize that this is only a piece of what is a much larger goal for them in 2014.

"It feels really good. I think it gets our confidence higher and we'll just be ready to play them again. We have great potential this year to get a state championship," said McKenzie Johnston.

"It's something that we've really wanted. it's one of our goals. one. so then the back half of my mind is saying oh hey we've got more to do, we don't get a trophy yet but we can enjoy that and then go back to work."

Getting back to work is certainly the plan. there's still other demons to conquer for this year's bruins.

"The fact that there's no banner up there on the ceiling is our biggest demon. But in terms of these girls, like I said, they've gone a long time without feeling this. They wanted this, they wanted to prove what they're capable of and I think that's what we did tonight we proved what we're capable of but we've got to keep doing it," said head coach Bill Pilgeram.

And while there's no banner behind me for the would be 2013 championship season, the Bruins are hoping that that spot gets filled very soon.
