Great Falls High School was Placed on Lockdown

Posted: Updated:

It was a scary day for many local parents, as Great Fall High School went into lockdown after a bomb threat was found on campus. At approximately 10 AM a student notified a teacher about a bomb threat written on a bathroom wall. Police and bomb sniffing dogs were called to the scene as students were moved to the Field House for an assembly. Superintendent Tammy Lacey praises the work of law enforcement and Great Falls High during this investigation.

"You know we practice these protocols all the time to make sure they happen smoothly and I would say that today was the example of the practice really pays off. Although we can never completely control every piece of the puzzle as it unfolds, I think that our protocol really pays off for us today and we are glad we practice those things," Says Lacey.

The lockdown lasted from 10 AM until 2 PM. Luckily there were no bombs found in the building. This incident will remain under investigation for the time being, but classes will resume as usual tomorrow.
