Valentine's Day Ends With Woman in Custody After Fatal Shooting

Authorities in northwest Montana say a 71-year-old man is dead and a 55-year-old woman is in custody following a shooting on Valentine's Day.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says that deputies responded to a report of a shooting in Hungry Horse at about 8 p.m. Friday.

Police say they found the man with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Pamela Ruth Haines was taken into custody on suspicion of deliberate homicide and is being held at the Flathead County Detention Center.

The man's name hasn't been released.
