Calumet Holds Open House on Expansion Project

GREAT FALLS -

The Calumet Montana Refinery has invited local officials and air quality experts to an open house at North Middle School. Calumet is currently developing a project that aims to double its production capacity of it's Great Falls refinery from 10,000 barrels of crude oil to 20,000 barrels with the installment of a new pressure hydrocracker.

As safety and the environment is a number one concern by members of the public and Cascade County Elected Official Calumet held a open house to lay out the plans for the project and safety measures during the shipping and installation of the hydrocracker. According to Calumet officials the entire project, after approval is projected to finish and be fully operational by the beginning of the year 2016 and upon completion Calumet plans to add around 150 new employees to their job force.
