Macker's Past Revealed

Posted: Updated:

Today we learn more about the Kalispell man who was found dead under the ice of the Missouri River at the Black Eagle Dam on Wednesday.

26-year-old Graham Macker was listed as a walk-a-way from the Great Falls Pre-Release Center on November 14th of last year and was wanted for escape.  Before that, a teenage Macker and his family were featured in an HBO documentary and a CBS National News piece about the rise of meth in Montana. Apparently, he struggled with drug addiction and was in recovery and rehabilitation after his family got him help.

Macker's grandmother said that he was a "Straight A" student that is more interested in "numbing himself."

We've reached out to the Montana Meth Project who work with stories like Macker's. They say they're working on a statement.
