Macker Starred in Montana Meth Project Documentary

Posted: Updated:

Graham Macker was listed as a walk-a-way from the Great Falls pre-release center on November 14th of last year and was wanted for escape, but before that, a teenaged Macker and his family were featured in an H-B-O documentary about the rise of meth use in Montana.

"Montana Meth" talks about the rise of the drug across the treasure state through the stories of many people, including Graham Macker.

CBS National News also ran a story about the Montana Meth Project and used Macker as an example of someone getting clean after years of addiction.

In a statement, the Montana Meth Project said "Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to his family... Meth use continues to be a serious issue in our communities... Graham's life story is one we will tell."

His family didn't want to speak, but Graham Macker's mother, Wendy Macker, said this in the documentary,"I have my doubts. How could I not? How do you just use something and then just give it up, something that's that powerful?"

In his native flathead county... Graham was charged with forgery and issuing a bad check according to the Montana correctional offender network.

He was last seen in November when a foot chase led to the banks of the Missouri River.

Montana's Department of Criminal Investigation is taking over the investigation into Graham's death from the Great Falls Police Department and the Cascade County Sheriff's Office.
