Dinner & Art Combine For A Fantastic Evening

Posted: Updated:

So you want to go out for a night on the town in Great Falls, but what do you choose?  There's so much to do.  Maybe you go out to dinner, maybe get some drinks, go see some artwork, help out in your community or maybe just explore the town as a whole.  Those all sound fantastic, but you can't do all of those at one time…or can you?

Art from the Heart, put on by the Downtown Chicks, looks to combine all of those things with a focus on the art and it's been pretty successful so far.

"Good food, some drinks, and a bit of a guided tour could make this more attractive, more interesting to people and it seems to be working really well," said Sophia Sparklin, event chair.

Those who attend enjoy appetizers, a meal and desserts at a variety of different art galleries with the trolley taxiing them in between.  Even though my date was a camera, this is an ideal event to bring a companion.

"It is the perfect date nigh whether it's girls night out or an actual date night, take great care and good food and drinks and we just kind of mix in the art," said Sparklin.

Earlier, I mentioned helping out the community.  The profit from this event goes toward the local art scene and promoting Great Falls artists.

"All of the proceeds go directly to Urban Art Project, which is that outdoor gallery that we will be stopping at.  Urban Art Project has quite a number of exhibit spaces, like windows…almost like storefront windows," said Sparklin.

I'm not just showing off this awesome event to make you jealous.  Another night on the town featuring art and dinner is just around the corner.

"Come out in April.  The next one is the Electric City Art Nouveau Tour April 26th.  We will actually take it to the other side of the river, check out the underpass project, have Greek dinner and I heard something about belly dancers *laughter*and see some of the outdoor sculptures at A. Hooker gallery April 26th," said Sparklin.

So what are you waiting for? Make a reservation by phone or in person at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art and you can enjoy a night you won't forget.
