Posted: Updated:
GREAT FALLS -

We now have a follow up on a fatal accident from Saturday. The victim from which has now been identified.

Todd Brownlee, a 38 year old from Great Falls, has been named the victim in the accident. On Saturday night, a truck collided head on with his Subaru Legacy on I-15. Brownlee was confirmed dead at the scene, while the driver of the truck was taken to Benefis. Reports speculate he may have been driving in the wrong direction at the time of the accident. M.H.P. also says Brownlee was not wearing a seat belt.

Although information keeps coming in, fatal crashes like this come with a lot of questions that must be answered before the case is closed.

Bob Edwards, Cascade County's Sheriff/Coroner explains, "We have to determine if there was a natural event that occurred that caused the accident, or if it was alcohol related, or if someone might have been texting, on the phone, things like that."

The sheriff's department will then team up with an investigating agency, take toxicology reports, and do autopsies as need. The whole time they work hand in hand with M.H.P. or the G.F.P.D. They will eventually put their findings together, and that's how a cause, manner, and circumstance of a death will be determined in cases like this. They are still working through this process now. We will bring you updates on this case as our officials know more.
