Colorado Man Linked to 2012 Helena Crime

After a lengthy investigation we have some good news police have now linked a man from a recent robbery to a cold case that happened all the way back in 2012.

22-year-old Eric Segura from Colorado was in the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center for a few months on a recent theft charge. Last August he was connected with a case from June of 2012 where he followed a women into her apartment without permission, threatened her with a knife, duct taped her, and took drugs from the home. After DNA analysis Segura was linked to the crime and has since been charged with robbery, burglary, and possession of dangerous drugs.

"He really threatened this poor victim and held a knife to her throat, threatened to shoot her." said Helena Police Chief Troy McGee "I mean he really caused her a lot of emotional distress at the time and she has been sticking with us for the last three years and the investigators have been working really hard trying to come up with something, and when this popped  up they put a lot of time and effort into it to get it solved."

Segura is set to appear in Lewis and Clark County court Thursday February 27th.
