2/27 Helena-Missoula High School Games Postponed till 3/3

Posted: Updated:

All games for Thursday night between the Helena and Missoula High Schools have been postponed until Monday due to a blizzard warning in the Missoula area, Helena Activities Director Jim Opitz confirmed for KFBB earlier Thursday.

Included is the much anticipated game between the Capital and Sentinel girls, who are tied for the best record in AA at 17-1. Sentinel is 9-1 in the Western AA with their only loss coming to Capital, who is undefeated at 10-0. Bruins head coach Bill Pilgeram says his girls are disappointed they won't play on Thursday, but that it's totally out of their control.

"It just is what it is. We talk a lot about controlling what you can control, this is an uncontrollable. We just got to be mentally ready to play now whenever we get to play it. They were very excited and everything and they need to keep that excitement and be ready when it comes," Pilgeram told KFBB.

The buses were sent home and the games will be rescheduled for Monday, Opitz told KFBB. He also said as far as Saturday's games are concerned, they will wait till mid-day on Friday to make a decision. Game times could possibly be moved to 2pm, allowing teams to travel in the daylight. We'll update this story as new information is released.

The following games are postponed:

Helena High girls at Big Sky

Capital High girls at Sentinel

Sentinel boys at Capital

Big Sky at Helena High
