Police Investigating Possible Arson

Posted: Updated:

After several vehicles have been set ablaze across the city in recent days, Great Falls Police are now investigating the events as potential acts of arson.

A fire early this morning in the alley behind Auto World on 6th Avenue North is prompting the investigation.  Shortly before 3:30am, reports came in of a 1998 Dodge Pickup in flames.  By the time crews arrived, the truck was engulfed in flames and to other trucks were damaged as well.

Authorities believe the fire was started by someone throwing an object through a window in the vehicle.

Authorities are trying to potentially connect this to vehicle fires that took place on 34th Street and 9th Avenue North and another on 25th Street and 12th Avenue South.

The investigation is in it's early stages, and there are no known suspects.  We will bring more information as it becomes available.
