SPOKANE, Wash. - Update: Spokane firefighters say the iconic Shogun restaurant on E. 3rd Ave. appears to be a total loss after an early morning fire destroyed the building. First arriving companies found heavy fire coming through the roof of the Shogun Restaurant and immediately began to attack the fire. Despite attempts to enter the building, they were quickly forced out due to deteriorating conditions above them.

The Sacramento Bee reports "Furry Boi" was named April 13 to the Associated Students of the University of California Senate. The squirrel initially took the form of a critter living among campus trees, running on platforms such as easier acorn access.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police continue to investigate after a vehicle reportedly went into the Spokane River near Sinto and South Riverton Saturday morning. Officers on scene determined that a car was headed westbound on Sinto, went through a guard rail where Sinto dead ends and into the river beyond.
TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - An organization that supports stricter gun regulations has announced a new ballot measure proposal to raise the minimum age to buy a semi-automatic weapon in Washington from 18 to 21, along with several other restrictions. The News Tribune reports the Alliance for Gun Responsibility will need roughly 260,000 signatures before the initiative can qualify for the 2018 ballot.
