Great Falls Police arrested a man they say kidnapped and beat his wife with a bed frame.
According to the report, police arrested 31-year-old Brett Matkovitch of Great Falls, on assault with a weapon and kidnapping charges.
Police say on March 6, officers were dispatched to 12th Street NE in regards to an assault that had happened five days prior.
According to the female victim, her husband Brett repeatedly beat her with a wood log from the bed frame in their bedroom.
After the attack, Brett then took his wife to his father's motel room where she was unable to leave for five days, the reported stated. The victim told police she was never left unattended by Matkovich's family and was not allowed to leave or use a phone.
Brett's father told police that Brett took his wife to the hospital five days after the attack.
Brett was taken into custody for questioning, and then later arrested.
The victim suffered several injuries from the assault, such as, bruises to the upper legs, lower back, cheek, hand/wrist, ankle and ribs. The victim also stated that her bones in her wrist, ribs and ankles were possibly broken due to the assault.
Brett Matkovich appeared in court on Monday and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
