Posted: Updated:

A man is being held on $50,000 bond and facing felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping.

31 year-old Brett Matkovitch was arrested Saturday night after officers say he kidnapped and assaulted his wife with a wood log from a bed frame.  Officers say the female victim was repeatedly beaten then taken to a motel room where she was held hostage for five days before receiving medical attention according to court documents.

The victim suffered several broken bones and bruises.  Matkovitch was taken into custody for questioning then arrested. Police say Matkovitch's criminal history shows multiple arrests for PFMA's and assaults.
