Ann Ortisi was a Great Falls resident who passed away in 2012. While two schools, with religious upbringings in education have opened in the last twenty years, Ortisi's ultimate goal was to leave a legacy in Christian education in the Electric City. Today her goal was accomplished.
Today Great Falls Central Catholic High School and Foothills Community Christian school receiving $100,000 thanks to a fund Ortisi left to further education at both schools. Today's installment completed the distribution of the trust.
Both principals, Vickie Donisthorpe at Central Catholic and John Peterson at Foothills agree that this gift is a pivotal moment in the blessings seen at both schools.
A release from Foothills Development Director Becky Nelson stated both schools have increased enrollment this past year and would like to offer more programs. The mission at both schools is very similar: To equip its students to become Christian leaders and servants so when they leave the school they will have the "intrinsic motivation" to serve others.
