International Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Helena

HELENA -

A plane traveling from Canada to Mexico had to make an emergency landing in Helena early this morning after hitting extreme turbulence.

The flight was carrying around 150 passengers touched down in the Capital City for a medical emergency after a flight attendant was hurt.

The Boeing 737 touched down around 7:30 AM and a medical team cleared the injured male flight attendant while no other injuries were reported.

A spokeswoman from the airline said another plane is being sent from Toronto to pick up the passengers so the first plane can be inspected for damage.

The initial plane was Flight 559 of Sunwing Airlines flying from Edmonton, Alberta to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
