Daines Talks About His Plans For Government Spending

Posted: Updated:
Montana -

Today Congressman Daines made his way to our sister station in Billings to discuss his hopes for the future of our government.

Daines believes its unfair to the next generation for today's congress not to get government spending under control, claiming that the federal government is borrowing over thirty cents of each dollar spent, accumulating over $16.4 trillion in national debt.

He believes it's imperative that we balance the budget every year so that our debt can be decreased, but getting that passed will be a lot easier said than done.

Daines explains, "The challenge I face is members of congress. Back there, many of them don't want to see that, because they know that if we pass something like that, then it will force them to balance the budget. I'm going to keep fighting for that back in Washington, and we are still getting traction and we still have a long ways to go."
