Senator Jon Tester Congratulates Fairfield Girls Basketball Team

Posted: Updated:

Senator Jon Tester was at Fairfield High School to congratulate the girls basketball team on Wednesday. The girls won their 4th consecutive state championship in Class B and have won one hundred and four games in a row.

Senator Tester spoke to the Fairfield student body at an assembly to congratulate the girls basketball team and praise them for their consistency of excellence. The Senator also acknowledged Fairfield's commitment to excellence in the classroom and applauded the entire school and community. Girls basketball head coach and principal Dustin Gordon said that it was humbling to have Tester come to recognize Fairfield High School and according to Tester, he was there for good reason.

"104 straight victories and 4 straight championships and setting many records in the process. This is about saying thank you for excellence and not only on the basketball court but also in the classroom. Fairfield has done a great job of turning out some incredible kids. I think it all works together - athletics and academics all work in concert with one another," said Tester.

Fairfield defeated Malta 60-55 in a double-overtime thriller on Saturday night to win their 4th consecutive state championship.
