Carroll College Narrowing its List of Coaching Candidates

Posted: Updated:
HELENA -

As day three comes to a close at the open forums at Carroll College, we're getting closer and closer to an answer as they search for their future mens soccer as well as softball coach. Talking with athletic director Bruce Parker, it's pretty clear he knows the clock's ticking, he wants to get somebody in here and get them started.

"You've probably heard the term ASAP? ASAP!" joked Parker. "We need coaches to come in and schedule. We need coaches to come in and recruit full rosters. And we're looking at about 20-22 with both squads. We don't want them to fill everything up the first year. And then those will be new students to Carroll College."

These daily forums are open to the public, because to Carroll, it's very important that they not only support their coaches, but the community does as well.

"We're a Helena school. I mean Carroll College is a part of the Helena community," said Parker proudly. "We're very proud of that, that we're part of Helena. And I want to know what people think. I don't want somebody to come up to me in six months and say 'Jeeze I wish I would have, I should have told you about this. This was my feeling.' I want people to help us make this decision."

According to  Bruce Parker earlier Wednesday, as soon as these coaching forums are all wrapped up on Friday, they'll be looking to make a hire early next week. So this news should be coming down the pipe pretty soon.
