GREAT FALLS -

A student from CMR is helping to keep the memory of Samantha Sipes alive though a memorial run. Here at West Park where folks here are memorialize a CMR Student who passed away through a Memorial run.

"We are having a memorial benefit run fro Samantha Sipes who was killed in a car accident about 2 weeks ago. their going 3 miles, they have one way and I set up 3 miles and a 1 mile course," says CMR Cross County Coach, Doug Darko.

Fellow CMR student Shay Lavallie came up with the idea of a memorial run to support the family of Samantha. Lavallie says he understands what the family is going through as he too has lost someone very close to him.

"I started it because I lost my mom during Cross Country which is in September and I just thought that it would be nice to do something to show my support for the family that lost their daughter and I know what their going through," says Lavallie.

Lavallie had some inspirational words for the family and is also really glad to see so many turn out for the run.

"This is just my way of showing that hey everything is going to be okay and it may take a while it may take time but in the long run you should be happy and be happy that she was here, because that what she wants you to do is be happy. I thought it was pretty good I think a lot more people turned out than I expected to," says Lavallie.

A number of people came out to run today and they will be finishing at the cones there after they are done with their 3 mile or 1 mile run.
