Boy Scouts Collect the Most Cans for the Food bank

Posted: Updated:

The local Boy Scout's have reached a record today while helping out the Great Falls Food Bank. Great Falls Boy Scout Troops spent the morning collecting, unloading and stacking cans to help out the Great Falls Food Bank. Back on March 22nd the boy scouts were going door to door collecting these cans and even though the collection period is finished folks can still donate can food items.

"Well every year we do a big food drive this is to help out the community this is our 20th year this year, and so far the numbers are looking really good compared to the last few years. I think each year we just keep bumping up just a little bit more which is a fantastic thing," Says Representative Robert Dowdy.

This year the Boy Scouts and the Great Falls Food Bank eclipsed last years total collection weight of 15,900 pounds with a new record total weight in cans of 20,615 pounds.
