Grizzly bears are beginning to be seen in the Northern Rockies.
Fish, Wildlife, and Parks officials are saying that most bears tend to emerge from their dens in April or May.
There has though been documentation of bears entering their hibernation dens later in the fall and surfacing in early spring.
Glacier National Park has not reported any grizzlies at this time, but Yellowstone has reported some activity since early March.
Bears are now coming out of their dens in search of food. Montana FWP warns back country recreators, ranchers, and residents that they should approach with caution so that conflicts are easily prevented.
