Sheriff's Deputy Arrested on DUI Charge

Posted: Updated:

A local sheriff's deputy is in hot water after being arrested just before midnight on Friday under suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Great Falls Police Department says Cascade County Sheriff's Deputy Matthew Darlington was pulled over in a routine traffic stop at 11:57 PM on Friday night on 20th Street South near Target.

The case is still under investigation but the police department was able to confirm that the stop was changed to a DUI arrest.

Ironically, back in 2010 Darlington had been recognized by the Cascade County DUI task force with a plaque and gift certificate for his efforts in fighting drunk drivers.
