Teen Facing Charges for Helena School Bomb Threats

Posted: Updated:

The fourteen year old boy from California that made three bomb threats against Helena schools is now facing six charges in Youth Court.

The boy is being charged as a delinquent youth, and he is facing three counts of terrorist threats and another three of falsely reporting a bomb threat.

Prosecutors from Lewis and Clark county filed the charges against the teen in March after the last bomb threat, but police say California is entitled to prosecute him first.

A sixteen year old Helena student, who reportedly conspired with the boy on two of the bomb threats, is also facing two felony intimidation charges in Youth Court.

The threats led to the evacuation of Helena Elementary and Middle schools on March 19th and all of Helena public schools on March 21st.
