Just a little more than a week after a Wyoming man was arrested for stealing 559lbs. of explosives from a US Forest Service bunker in Red Lodge, another case of theft has been reported near Victor.
Authorities in Ravalli County are investigating the theft of nearly 285lbs. of high explosives, boosters, and dynamite.
Law enforcement believes that the time table of the stolen materials could have occurred anytime between March 15th and this past Tuesday. Reports say the explosives were stolen from a storage facility operated by Ajax Contracting Inc., which is based west of Victor.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the location and finding of these stolen items, along with a conviction of those who are responsible for the thefts.
Possession of and the theft of stolen explosives is a federal offense, and is punishable by up to ten years in prison.
